If you think about e-commerce, you probably assume that online shopping has taken over everyone’s lives and is far outreaching typical retail.

Well, you might be right for part of that thought, but not for all of it. Yes, it’s true: E-commerce is big business. In the United States alone, retail e-commerce sales in just a single quarter are nearly $140 billion. That’s a lot of money. But guess what? That total is just one-tenth of the total of all retail sales. So while it’s growing, it’s still a small piece of the retail puzzle.

One thing that’s preventing e-commerce from growing to its potential? Accessibility. If people have challenges to shopping online, they’re going to find other methods to access that information, goods, and services. And people with disabilities number about 63 million.
